    You remind us of my mentor, who also was an Orange Cat, a tough old soul I only knew a few months when I was a kitten long ago.

    Poor little Maxie! We heard about his troubles through our friend Sparkle the Designer Cat's blog.     When something like this happens, we human feel so much regret, wishing we could turn back time.

    I will have Maxie in my thoughts today and if the new vet finds that Maxie can't be fixed up right, then to 'go to sleep' while one is already asleep, is the kindest and gentlest way...

    We are so sorry for this sadness in your life.

    Ps: I work at a cat hospital and we have a patient that had stents put in at a specialists too, due to adhesions in his esophagus due to the owner not rinsing down the doxycyline capsules after he gave them, and that kitty is doing well on a pureed 'milkshake' consistency canned food.
