We are stil purring like mad for Maxie.
ReplyDeletePet insurance companies are SO disappointing, aren't they? They are happy to take yoor money in fees, but not happy to pay for necessary treatment. It's disgraceful.
That's an outrageous and heartless way to treat anyone. We are so sorry you had to experience that awful call and attitude. We have a very low opinion of pet insurers.
ReplyDeleteWe are still sending dear Maxie rumbly purrs and love
Whicky Wuudler
That's what you get with pet insurance??? You have to pay for this cr*p????
ReplyDeleteI don't know what options you have, financially, but if you have a mortgage, can you remortgage your home? I've had to go that route twice now....
Sending lots of purrs and prayers and healing Light to Maxie and to you all.
-Kim
We are so sorry. We're still purrring and purraying for Maxie to get better.
ReplyDeleteLooks like this vip insurance has a strainge meaning for 'VIP'.
Have you tried talking to the supervisor? Doubt it would help, but at least you can take up some of their time, and might get somewhere higher up the chain from there.
We're so sorry this is happening to you. We donated a little...we wish we could give you more. We're purring for you and Maxie.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrible. You pay and pay and pay for Maxie's insurance and get stonewalled when you need help.
ReplyDeleteWe are so sorry all f this is going on. It's nt like your DON'T have enoung going on. Insurance companies, REAGARDLESS of which ones, are the BIGGEST legalized scans going. We are purraying that everything with Maxie worksour and that a miracle happens for you all!
ReplyDeleteWe are so sorry. Our Mom looked at getting pet insurance for us and they all seemed to NOT cover a whole bunch of stuff while charging an arm & a leg for coverage. Mommy decided on a pet savings account instead.
ReplyDeleteWe are purring for a miracle for Maxie.
This makes me mad & sad at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI am so so mad reading this and so mad that these people don't even seem to care. And I am so sad for you and for Maxie for having to go through this. We donated but I wish we could give more. We are still sending over lots of purrs and prayers for a miracle!

Hi Mom Laura,
ReplyDeleteI just left the message below on the CB for ML because I was having a hard time accessing your blog. (My windows crashes everytime I try to stay on your home page). Anyway I hope that maybe you find this information useful...
"Hi ML,
I finally had a free moment to check out the CB when I read about Mom Laura. I am having a hard time accessing her blog, it keeps making my windows crashed, so I am not familiar with the whole story. I did do a little research based on what I read here on the CB, and Mom Laura does indeed have legal rights in MA, she just needs to know where to look and who to contact.
She should start by calling the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association. There number is 508-460-9333. They should be able to provide her with a great deal of information about her legal rights within the state.
Next she should file a formal compliant against the vet and the vet's license. She can file a formal compliant by clicking on/ or pasting into her web browser the following link...
http://www.massvet.org/goto.cfm?page=www.mass.gov/dpl/boards/vt/&returnto=displayassociationlinks.cfm
Mom Laura might even want to print and fill out this form, and then take it with her back to the vets office who originally made the mistake. If the vet knows that Mom Laura is serious about filing a formal compliant with the state against his or her license, then the vet just may change his or her tune and ultimately correct their error free of charge, simply because they wont want the state to do an investigation on them or their practice particularly if they are in the wrong.
Hope that makes sense..."
You may also want to check out and remind your vet of the "Rules and Regulations Governing Veterinarians, 256 CMR 7.01 Code of Professional Conduct, Section 4, sub-section J, which specifically states, A licensee shall not: Practice veterinary medicine so as to endanger the health and welfare of his or her patient or the public".

ReplyDeleteActually I think the Vet that did this horrible thing should pay for Maxie's surgery. Maxie we hurt for you here, we are so sorry that you have to go through all this hurt and pain. We are still purring and praying for a miracle for you.
